DID YOU KNOW ? EVERYONE HAS SEVEN INVISIBLE CHAKRA THAT CARRY KUNDALINI ENERGY THROUGH THE BODY, FROM THE BOTTOM UP. THESE MUST BE HARMONIZED SO THAT YOU ARE IN GOOD HEALTH EVEN IF THIS DOES NOT EXEMPT YOU FROM CONSULTING A HEALTH PROFESSIONAL. ON A DAILY BASIS, YOU CAN DO YOGA EXERCISES TO MAINTAIN THIS BALANCE. THE ROOT CHAKRA, ALSO CALLED MULADHARA, IS THE FIRST OF THESE ENERGY CENTERS, LOCATED AT THE LEVEL OF THE PERINEUM.
Root Chakra Meaning
The root chakra , also called Muladhara in Sanskrit, is the first chakra located at the level of the perineum. This chakra is located at the base of the spine, and is turned towards the ground. It is the basis of life and the seat of the Kundalini, coiled on itself, like a snake.
For Kundalini Yoga, the Muladhara is a lotus with four petals of red color, each corresponding to a psychological state (joy, extreme, natural pleasure, delight in the control of passions and bliss in concentration), leading to meditation.
In energy terms, this chakra channels the earth’s energy rising through the feet and legs to process and stabilize it. He then continues to make it rise along the spine. The main function of the Muladhara is to anchor or root the individual, so that he becomes one with life. It is the true root of our Tree of Life, the seat of survival, security, basic needs (e.g. eating, drinking, breathing), anchoring to the earth, rooting, well-being, sexuality, procreation and material life. Muladhara is closely related to Karma – the sum of previous experiences.

Physical Symptoms Of Root Chakra Opening
When your root chakra is harmonized, that is to say when the energy neither circulates in excess nor in lack, then it functions in a normal way. So you feel secure, well grounded. Well-being, comfort and physical vitality invade you. Finally, you are centered and master of yourself. The Muladhara chakra represents the basis of all body / mind work and therefore it is necessary to start with it. However, it sometimes happens that this energy center is unbalanced.
Root Chakra Imbalance Symptoms
Root chakra too open
When the root chakra is too active, survival is the fundamental concern. You can hurt others, be selfish, authoritarian, angry, violent and hyperactive. But also, you tend to be excessive. You accumulate objects and money while abusing tobacco, alcohol, food and carnal pleasures. A chakra whose energy is too present is felt on health with the possibility of obesity, arthritis, rheumatism, high blood pressure and cholesterol.
Root chakra under active
If the energy does not circulate well in your root chakra , then you are in the grip of many fears in terms of survival: to die, to miss (ex: money, food), to be abandoned, change, disorganization, lose your job, let go. Passivity, stress, negativity, insecurity, lack of willpower and confidence win you over. You do not have your feet on the ground and therefore you find it difficult to stay focused. Everything is distracting. At night you have nightmares more often. Material problems (ex: financial) arise in your life without your having the capacity to solve them and you run away from reality. It can also be seen on your body: back problems, digestive and sexual organ problems, loss of smell, tumors, fibroids, decalcification.
